Remember Flip Cameras? Yes! It came it went, but it served me well. When I first joined forces with Philly360 (RIP) I was given one to document MY Philly. So I figured why not start with my homie Mr. Love who had just been honored with curating and producing the huge July 4th celebration (Jam) on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philly. At that point in our lives I was often amazed at what he could do in a day. So I picked one of his busiest to document through my eyes. I believe this was the first day of rehearsals. Watch and become fascinated by Questlove (and other members of the Roots crew a) as he puts this show together from scratch with the help of Eddie Levert and Shawn Stockman. #OnliyinLaiyasworld

Jocelyn Crawford moved to Los Angeles over 12 years ago to start her family with her new husband. She had no idea she would end up in high demand by Black Hollywood's elite. All she knew is that she was pro at getting party started or should I say planned. This was a talent passed through generations of which she reserved for family events, but once Hollywood saw what she could do her phone began ringing off the hook. Watch as this Supermom shares her story of how human planning has nothing on God's plan! Be inspired, be motivated and entertained as I give you another episode of PHI-LAY! As I continue on this journey of telling these dope stories of folks moving from Philly to LA I'm hoping to give you different aspects of how this can be done, lol. Kamau for instance, moved himself, his two sons and wife from Philly to LA almost 4 years ago and hasn't looked back since. Kamau has explained to me that the struggle to stay in this beautiful state is real and most who live here would do whatever it takes to stay. Kamau is definitely apart of that group. He is a lawyer by training and an educator by trade, but make no mistakes he will do (and has done) what it takes to keep his family in a town where dreams are as unlimited as the mountains and beaches. Watch his story and prepare to be inspired..... Let first say that I am huge True Blood fan so because of the joy and blood it has brought my life, I never imagined it would bring me a sister too! Meet Khadija Brockington! We were brought together by a cousin of hers and a fake brother of mine lol. I don't know how he knew, but Khadija was to become an essential person in my life. We laugh at the same things, love the same hair, are fascinated by some of the same folks most wouldn't admit to, she inspires me and yes I want to be her when I grow up! Keep in mind we are all the same age....29! Watch her story and become inspired and motivated! To all my film folks, take notes! This is a story about my homie, ERAC, who packed up all his stuff, made the road trip to LA solo. All because of some extra cute twins which led him to rid himself of 70lbs of dead weight. Sounds crazy? Allow him to explain.... |
